The training workshop was completed at the Municipal Theatre “Chilis Street” in which twenty-two (22) teachers of primary schools of Eastern Thessaloniki participated.The purpose of the workshop was to train teachers in the implementation of a workshop on conflict management for students in their schools.
The workshop is aimed at children:
– understand their initial reaction to the conflict
– realise that their reaction can – influence the outcome of a conflict and
-seek effective ways to manage conflicts
Through the activities of the workshop, children have the opportunity in an experiential way to become aware on a cognitive and emotional level – both in relation to themselves and to others – of their own ways of conflict. In this way it becomes clear to them to what extent their mode of conflict is constructive for themselves and their relationships. At the same time, they are also able to become aware of the different ways in which
conflict management used by their peers. This widens their range of options regarding conflict management.
