Completion of the Experiential Program for Support & Empowerment of Professionals at E.D.Y.

The experiential and observational series of meetings titled “Prevention and Management of Occupational Burnout (Burnout)” , which was designed and implemented by the Center for Addiction Prevention & Promotion of Psychosocial Health of Eastern Thessaloniki “ELPIDA” (which operates under E.O.P.A.E.), in close and creative collaboration with the 1st KEDASY A’ Thessaloniki.

The program was aimed at frontline staff, psychologists, social workers, and special education teachers who serve on the Interdisciplinary Support Committees (ISCs) in schools, and was conducted over six (6) experiential sessions totaling 12 hours.

The Philosophy and the Tools of Intervention

Guided by the philosophy that “we cannot control the storm in the system, but we must train the helmsman to hold the helm steady”, the team focused on developing emotional regulation skills, the functional management of workplace stress, and the “Architecture of Boundaries.” Through tools such as the GROW model and the Systemic Sociogram, participants moved away from the exhausting “savior syndrome” toward taking personal responsibility (Response-ability) and demonstrating their professional competence.

Impressive Results Evaluation

The anonymous evaluation of the program by the participants themselves highlighted the pressing need for and the effectiveness of such interventions:

  • The index of Professional Self-Efficacy and confidence skyrocketed from the initial 2. 9/5 to an impressive 4.8/5 after the intervention.

  • 100% of the participants stated that the group served as an effective antidote to professional isolation, eliminating the loneliness associated with the role.

  • The 100% of executives are now officially requiring the permanent establishment a8> the permanent establishment and consolidation these of the supervisory teams on an annual basis.

Empowering mental health professionals creates a positive ripple effect: a resilient and well-balanced caregiver serves as a safe haven for students, which in turn creates a ripple effect of security throughout the entire school environment.

The “ELPIDA” Prevention Center and the 1st KEDASY A’ Thessaloniki would like to warmly thank all participants for their trust, authenticity, and wholehearted dedication to the workshops, and are committed to continuing and expanding their strategic plan to support the educational community starting in the new school year.
