The Prevention Center “ELPIDA”, responding to the request of the Parents and Guardians Associations of 1st & 2nd High School of Pereaia, organizes Parents Group, 10 weekly meetings, entitled “We and our children”. More specifically, the group’s main purpose will be to enable parents to work through issues related to their role in a safe space for sharing. The more specific topics will emerge through the needs of the parents who participate. Indicative themes for parents of adolescent children might include: communication with the adolescent, boundary setting, protection from addictive behaviours, safety in peer relationships, the importance of self-determination, etc. The group meetings will take place at the 2nd High School of Peraea, will be based on the experiential method, will be two hours long and will operate on a weekly basis, at a fixed day and time. The group will start on Friday 16 February 2024 at 18:00-20:00. The coordinator of the group will be Mr. Andreas Meditskos, Sociologist, MA in Continuing Education, Scientific Director of the “ELPIDA” Prevention Centre. Participation in the group is free of charge. The prerequisites for the implementation of the parent group are the ability of its members to commit to the total number of meetings (10), as well as the participation of a minimum of 15 parents.
