In the context of the World Day against Drugs, “Elpida” and the Domestic Violence Task Force held the event entitled “Domestic Violence: recognize, fight”.
The meeting was based on the screening of short films that stimulated a discussion on the various dimensions of domestic violence: forms, myths and realities, the role of the observer, ways of prevention and treatment.
At the same time, it was accompanied by a photo exhibition entitled: “The hands that love”, which was the proposal of the Action Group for the “antidotes” to domestic violence.
The message that emerged from the participants was strong and clear: by joining hands and joining forces, with respect for the other person as a basic premise, we gain the power to speak and act. This is how we weaken any form of violence!
At the end the Task Force issued an open invitation to anyone who would like to join this whole effort aimed at spreading knowledge about the elimination of domestic violence in our community.
We thank from the bottom of our hearts the Action Team for their active participation, their time, their energy, their inspiration, their creativity, as well as all the attendees who shared with us ideas and feelings!
* The Domestic Violence Task Force is a group of volunteers that emerged through the Parents’ Circle that was implemented by K.P. Elpida during the months of February-March, with the theme: “Domestic Violence: Myths and Reality”.
