The series of 10 experiential meetings of the Parents’ Group “Us and Our Children,” organized by the Center for Addiction Prevention & Promotion of Psychosocial Health “ELPIDA” (in collaboration with E.O.P.A.E.).
The aim of the intervention was not to provide ready-made solutions, but to strengthen the parental role through self-awareness and personal responsibility. Coordinated by the Center’s Scientific Director, Mr. Andreas Meditsos, parents participated in a journey of personal development, transitioning from the role of “corrector” of behavior to the role of “leader” of the family who inspires and guides.
During the workshops, participants explored topics such as:
The importance of Active Listening and the Sacred Pause before the reaction.
Managing anger and understanding the “iceberg” of emotions.
The transition from praise to substantive encouragement.
Resolving conflicts using the “Fanari” tool, transforming the parent from Judge to Mediator.
The art of Kintsugi in the parent-child relationship.
The team completed its work, leaving behind not only knowledge, but above all a strong safety net and connection between its members. As was aptly stated: “We are not just raising children. We are raising the people who will inherit the world”.
The ELPIDA Prevention Centre continues its work, remaining a steady supporter of the community, believing that prevention begins with the quality of our relationship with ourselves and our children.latsis-foundation+1
