The cycle of film screenings for parents at the EPAL Kalamaria started! 1st film “The Song of Hillbilly” based on the novel of the same name by VANCE D. JAMES. “The Song of Hillbilly” is about anger, resignation, self-abandonment. It speaks of how deeply we are marked by the external circumstances of our lives – family, surroundings, the times. But it also talks about people who, against the odds, managed to stay upright and found the courage to take their fate into their own hands. The film stimulated a discussion about risk and protective factors for the development of addictive behaviours and the role of parents in preventing addictions. The meeting was moderated by Ms. Georgia Giourka and Ms. Drakopoulou Marianna, psychologists of the Prevention Centre. Many thanks to the teachers Mrs. Tzeliou Christina and Savvopoulou Fotini for the invitation and cooperation!
