Observatory for the Prevention of Intra-school Violence and Bullying in Eastern Thessaloniki

The Observatory for the Prevention of School Violence and Bullying of Eastern Thessaloniki was created by the Order No. 159704/C7/17-12-2012/YPATHPA and its mission is to plan and implement actions for the prevention of School Violence and Bullying, the recording, study and referral for management to certified bodies of incidents of school violence and bullying.

The purpose and objectives of the Network are:

  • Recording-Study and referral for management to certified agencies of incidents of school violence and bullying.
  • Documenting the severe difficulties that schools faced in managing children’s behavioural problems.
  • Direct support to school staff with scheduled visits.
  • Immediate support and individualised intervention for students involved in incidents of domestic violence.
  • Information/counselling/support/awareness-raising for teachers and parents on how to manage children’s severe behavioural problems.
  • Promote and support mental health promotion programmes.
  • Facilitate schools to connect and collaborate with external mental health providers and diagnostic and support services.

ELPIDA is one of the external bodies that supports the Observatory with its expertise and experience on issues of prevention of violence, aggression and bullying.
