The Prevention Center “ELPIDA”, responding to the request of the N. Epiphataon High School , organizes a Parents’ Group, 10 weekly meetings, entitled “We and our children”. More specifically, the group’s main purpose will be to enable parents to work through issues related to their role, within a safe sharing space. The more specific topics will emerge through the needs of the parents who participate. Indicative themes for parents of adolescent children might include: communication with the adolescent, boundary setting, protection from addictive behaviours, safety in peer relationships, the importance of self-determination, etc. The group meetings will take place in the high school, will be based on the experiential method, will be two hours long and will operate on a weekly basis at a fixed day and time. The group will start on Monday 19 February 2024 at 18:00-20:00.
The coordinator of the group will be Ms Marianna Drakopoulou, Clinical Psychologist, Psychoanalyst, member of the Elpida Centre.
Participation in the group is free of charge. The prerequisites for the implementation of the parent group are the ability of its members to commit to the total number of meetings (10), as well as the participation of a minimum of 15 parents.
