Meeting and cooperation meeting between Mayor Ignatios Kaitezidis and the new president of the Centre for the Prevention of Addictions and Promotion of Psychosocial Health of Eastern Thessaloniki “Elpida”, Betty Semakoula, during her visit to the Mayor’s Office in Panorama. The mayor was informed about the prevention programmes implemented by the “Elpida” Centre, aimed at parents, young people, teachers and other social groups with the assistance of volunteers and its participation in social networks, with the aim of preventing drug addiction among young people and promoting the mental and physical health of the residents of Eastern Thessaloniki. In a statement, Mr. Kaitezidis expressed his support to the “Elpida” Centre for the valuable, as he said, social work it performs. Furthermore, he noted that the possibility of further cooperation between the two institutions in events and actions, such as parenting schools, individual counselling, as well as lectures in schools on modern and topical social issues that concern young people, was considered.
